There's more to a holiday in Emmental than cheese!

Under the tutelage of Roc Greisler, head chef at the Romantik Hotel Bären in Dürrenroth, you bake your very own meringues to take home while enjoying the fruity berries of the Emmental in the form of a sparkling aperitif from the wine cellar.

Spend an evening in the restaurant choosing your very own culinary feast, selecting the perfect accompanying wine with your host Volker Beduhn in the vaulted wine cellar, and allowing the Hotel Bären team to lavish you with attention.

The pure air and your genuine desire to do yourself a power of good will ensure that you enjoy a peaceful night's sleep within the historic walls of the hotel.

It goes without saying that you receive a piece of mature Emmental cheese from the village cheese dairy to take home with you - after all, you can't come to Emmental and not sample the cheese!

What you can expect as part of the "More than just cheese" package:

 •  2 nights in your chosen room category with regional breakfast buffet
 •  Meringue baking in the Hotel Bären kitchen (approx. 1 hour)
 •  Aperitif in the Berner Blumengarten or in the wine cellar with some Dürrenroth sparkling berry wine 
    and Emmental Möggli, a type of cured bacon.
 •  A 4-course Roc Greisler dinner with accompanying wines
 •  Mature Emmental cheese from the village cheese dairy as a parting gift
